PAIR Sulawesi launch 2024

The Australia-Indonesia Centre has launched PAIR Sulawesi, a program that creates long-lasting connections between our educational institutions and importantly our peoples.

30 May and 5 June 2024

An agreement to equal co-funding by the Australian and Indonesian governments will see the PAIR research program expanded to more universities across the island of Sulawesi, home to five of Indonesia’s six fastest-growing provinces. Researchers from both countries will work together to tackle some of the region’s most pressing challenges, such as climate change.

Launches were held at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta and Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar and attended by funding partners the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education  (LPDP).
