Research programs are becoming more ambitious. From the large hadron collider to the driverless car, teamwork is required to make these ambitions succeed.

Large, complex, global projects require researchers to collaborate across countries, institutions, stakeholders, and time zones; transforming how we do research. But how do we adjust, and what will it take to effectively work in and lead these teams? What are the key drivers that you as a team leader and member can influence to boost your team’s performance?

In this unit you will explore the foundations of teamwork and explore how you can set your research team up for success. You will encounter the basic tenets of ‘Team Science’, and focus on team composition, goal setting, team design, and collaborative processes.

Upon finishing this module you will have a basic collaboration plan and some tools to develop a collective understanding of how your research team functions.
